What’s Up at Sparky
Labs: June 9th,
2006- Things are still
busy here at Sparky Labs – Lisa Furman’s CD release party was a big success,
and the band had a great time performing – hopefully we can get schedules to
coincide so that we can do it again soon. Lisa has pictures posted on lisafurman.com, as well as info on the
CD and where you can get a copy.
I also had a very interesting gig with MacTalla M’or, a Celtic fusion
band that’s a little more electric, and fronted by two brothers who play
highland bagpipes. They’re
definitely worth checking out at www.mactalla.com. In other news, things are busy here
in the studio, finishing up some projects and staying out of trouble(…well
sort of…). As more things are
coming out, I’ll post the info. May 18th
, 2006- Things have been
very busy here at Sparky Labs – One project just hit the streets a couple of
weeks ago, another is on its way to the fine folks at Oasis CD replication,
and yet another inching its way toward completion. First
up is the debut CD by Chenaniah, ‘It’s Him You’re Looking For’, which is a
collection of original contemporary Christian Rock and re-workings of classic
Hymns. In addition to being a
good band, they’re really nice folks as well. I unfortunately couldn’t attend their CD release party on
April 22nd, but by all accounts it was a resounding success. Check out their website and some
audio clips at The Chenaniah
Ministry Website. Next on the menu is
another debut CD, by Lisa Furman.
What started out as a Celtic duo album turned into an eclectic
multicultural incident, bringing in familiar faces(Kurt Berglund from The
Freelance Pallbearers), guest appearances(Peter Delaney from The Wild Notes),
and talented discoveries(violinist Julien Heller). Lisa and I put a good deal of work into this one, and
we’re pretty happy with the results.
The official CD Release party is Friday, June 2nd at Molten
Java in Bethel. All of the guest
artists noted above will be performing with Lisa and myself, so it should be
a very interesting evening…Lisa has sound clips up already on The Lisa Furman official website, and
will have more info about the release. Moving back to the
front burner is the remix/do-over of the first Freelance Pallbearers CD. Most of the original tracks have been
remixed, and a couple in the process of being added or re-worked. Our target release time is probably
late spring, but I’ll keep y’all posted. |
